Female athletes receive new field house

Seneca Valley School District has been building a new field house for many months, and now the purpose of it has been released.

On the left end of the football field, a new field house has been under construction for some months now, but there is a target date to see it completed soon. The athletic director, Ms. Heather Lewis, knows the ins and outs of this production. She said, “[The field house] allows us to have a female locker room area, similar to what the current field house has for the males. With the addition of girls wrestling, there will be a girl’s wrestling room, like the one in the current field house.”

The new field house has been under construction for many months now, so a common question for Lewis is when it is going to be done and ready for students to use. “I am optimistic when winter sports start November 17th. I am optimistic that our girls wrestling program will be able to have access to the facility and able to wrestle and practice there,” she said.

“I am very excited. I want to see how it’s different from the original field house, the new features, and I am excited for new mats. I also hope that the mats are pink and sparkly,” said senior wrestler, Natalie Tofanelli.

The new field house will be a great addition to our athletics, as it gives student-athletes new facilities to use, and we are counting down the days for it to be completed.
