Prom Dresses Find a Second Life

The 2nd Life Prom Dress Sale will take place on March 16, at Cranberry Community United Presbyterian Church on Rochester Road.

For five years, the annual sale has provided a selection of more than 1,000 once worn prom dresses.

According to the Cranberry Patch, dresses will be on display by size for shopping connivence.  At only $20 each these like new dresses will both look fabulous and won’t break the bank. Accessories such as shoes, wraps/shawls, jewelry and purses/clutches will also be available.

With a start time of 9 a.m., running till 1 p.m. on Saturday, the day is sure to be a jam packed event.

Admission to the sale is free, and there will be multiple dressing rooms available on site with attendants to help.

The Cranberry Patch also noted that another service on hand that day will be a number of seamstresses to provide free consultations and minor alterations.

Many families are unable to afford the countless expenses that go along with a prom; the 2nd Life Prom Dress Sale is a way for girls to make good use out of a prom dress that would normally never see the light of day again.

The sale allows many girls to makes use out of the dresses before the go out of style. With prices so low, this gives many girls the opportunity to attend their prom.

The church will continue to accept donated gowns, formal jewelry, and shoes from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday until March 15 at the church office. A tax donation receipt is available upon request as per a statement that can be found on their website.
