Get ready for Black Friday!

Every year, all of the family gathers around the dinner table to celebrate Thanksgiving Day. A day filled with laughter, turkey, and …shopping? Well, now it is! This year, some of the hottest spots for Black Friday are opening their doors on Thursday night for Black Friday sales. Here are some of the shopping hot spots:

Wal-Mart

Kmart

Toys R Us

Sears

-Target

Some Stores like Kohl’s and Best Buy are keeping their tradition alive and opening up at midnight.

Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, is traditionally one of the year’s busiest shopping days. Many stores will have extended hours and creative ways to get people to spend money, but it wasn’t always like this. It wasn’t until 2004 when Black Friday became the busiest shopping day of the year; it used to the Saturday before Christmas.

So, are they pushing too far this year by opening up on Thanksgiving? Many people have questioned if it is reasonable or not. Perhaps the earlier hour is an attempt to avoid the sometimes unruly crowds that doorbuster sales attract.

Last year, many stores reported attacks and injuries from the rushing crowds at midnight. Wal-mart reported many people brought Pepper spray.

With the stores creeping their hours into Thursday night, researchers from  businessweek.com are believeing that in a few years that there will be no Black Friday.
