The Seneca Valley student section is one of, if not, the best, student section in the WPIAL.

James Parey, the Student Section King, is very proud of his student section, “To think that the Seneca Valley student section has done a phenomenal job in representing their school is definitely an understatement. We are the number one student section in the WPIAL! It is very humbling to ponder the fact that we are the best; however, I do not expect anything less from the students at SV!”

The student section seems to have a great effect on the players. Zach Ramfos, a senior who is a wide-receiver and safety for the Raiders, backs up this claim, “Each and every game, the student section has pumped us up to play at our absolute best. We feed off of the energy that they provide us with.”

Starting at the beginning of football season, WPIAL Insider had ranked the best student sections in the western part of Pennsylvania for five consecutive weeks. The last student section rankings were made in Week 5.

In Week 5, Seneca Valley played Penn Hills for their annual homecoming game at Nextier Stadium. It was Superhero Night for the SV student section. The turnout was great, as always, and WPIAL Insider ranked Seneca Valley’s student section number one for the last week of the power rankings. WPIAL Insider said that the student section is “the most fun student section in the WPIAL”. This is one of three instances where WPIAL Insider gave SV a number one spot on the rankings.

Currently, the Raiders are in the playoffs. They were able to makes it into the playoffs because they “won all of the games that were a must-win”. They won their play off games against Mt. Lebanon and North Allegheny.  The Raiders now face Central Catholic at Heinz Field for the WPIAL 6A championship.

Seneca Valley’s student section is ready for the big away game. According to Student Section King Parey, they will be all about Seneca Valley this week.

The King is very excited and anxious for Friday, “I expect a great atmosphere and turnout from an intense student section that is ready to support the Raiders on their path to Heinz!”
