Xbox One Announced; Will it Live Up to the Hype?

On Tuesday Microsoft announced there next generation gaming console, the Xbox One. The Xbox 360 now being 8 years old now. “We have an ambitious vision to become the all-in-one system for every living room,” Microsoft president of Interactive Entertainment Business Don Mattrick said at the Xbox event in Redmond, Wash.,. Highlighting that the Xbox is not just a gaming system anymore, Mattrick added: “We’re thrilled to unveil the ultimate all-in-one entertainment system: the Xbox One.”

At the announcement on Tuesday Microsoft showed that the new system will be Skype compatable, be able to integrate with your television and even being able to use the system with voice and body movements.

With this new Xbox there is also a new Kinect. This Kinect will provide better control and will have a 1080p wide-angle camera. The camera will be able to detect rotations of your wrist and shoulder. Microsoft also stated the Kinect will be able to read your heartbeat.

Microsoft studios have also invested into making new original series games. Microsoft stated that there will be 10 to 15 new gaming titles that will be ready at launch.

The Xbox One is set to be released later on this year.
