Last Sunday, the biggest award show in music, the Grammy Awards were held with many exciting performances, winners, and fashion. The night kicked off on the red carpet, where celebrities discussed which designers they were wearing and had their elaborate dresses showcased on the 360-degree camera.

There were two surprise new fashion things for the night, however. There was a ‘Mani-cam’ sponsored by Covergirl to see manicures such as Taylor Swift’s hand painted nail job, Faith Hills giant ring, and more elaborate nails worn by Jennifer Lopez.

Also big for the night was the letter that was sent out to the stars to keep the scandalous dresses off of the red carpet, which meant to cover up and keep it elegant. Many such as Beyonce in a black and white jumper and Carrie Underwood in her black and nude mermaid style dress with a 31 million dollar necklace, did a fabulous job with this, while other rebels pushed those boundaries.

After the red carpet, the night took off. Country star Taylor Swift kicked off the Grammy Awards with a performance singing her smash hit “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” The performance included a man strapped to a spinning wheel and her attempt at a British accent, which we all know was rumored to be a shot at her most recent ex-boyfriend, Harry Styles of British boy band, One Direction.

Later in the night, Justin Timberlake made his big return to the music scene after seven years, and performed his new song “Suit & Tie” with Jay-Z. On the red carpet, many stars said this is what they were most looking forward to and when interviewed by E!News, Justin was all smiles and very happy to be preforming again.

Other performances for the night included Ed Sheeran singing his hit, “A Team” with his idol, Elton John, Maroon 5 and Alicia Keys who combined “Daylight” and “Girl on Fire”, and a tribute to Bob Marley by Bruno Mars, Sting, Rihanna, and Marley’s two sons.

Many awards were handed out throughout the night and really kept people on their toes. The big winners for the night were Gotye who won Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with Kimbra for “Somebody That I Used to Know,” Mumford & Sons for Album of the Year for “Babel,” fun. scoring Song of the Year for “We Are Young,” and Best New Artist, Adele for Best Pop Solo Performance for “Set Fire to the Rain,” Kelly Clarkson for Best Pop Vocal Album for “Stronger,” and many others.

The night ended with some artists going home empty-handed. However, that is the beauty of the Grammy Awards.
