After about 10 months of being together, the “cutest couple” in the teen celeb world, Justin Bieber, 18, and Selena Gomez, 20, have called it quits. The two have stuck together from the time they got together up to their breakup and were head over heels for each other, fighting break-up rumors, and angry fans who envied them.

Gomez was the one who was said to have broke things off. A source apparently told PEOPLE exclusively that “she broke up with him a week ago. With them being apart so much it got complicated. She had some trust issues. It’s not easy, but the relationship needed to end.”

Before the news of the split was official on Friday, Bieber participated as a musical guest for the 2013 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. He was also later spotted hanging out with one of the supermodels, Barbara Palvin, a few times in the past week. This did not thrill Gomez very much because after a picture of Palvin and the Biebs was tweeted, Gomez re-tweeted the photo with the caption, “…”.

Sources from the stars say that had nothing to do with them breaking up. The two stars both have hectic professional lives. “He is always working,” says People’s  source. “And she is always working. It was mutual.”

Neither of the two have spoken out publicly about their break-up, but have stepped out to a few events separate.
