Missy Franklin’s college search is over!

Seventeen year old Olymic swimmer, Missy Franklin,has verbaly confirmed that she will be attending the University of California. She has also tweeted last Saturday, “Committed to swim at Cal. Berkeley! I am officially a baby Golden Bear?????? I am so honored to be part of such a special team! #GoBears.”
Franklin will be joining Olympic swimmers Rachel Bootsman, Natalie Coughlin, Dana Vollner and director of U.S. womens team from the London Olympics, Cal coach, Teri Mckeever. Cal cannot comment on the commitment until Franklin signs a letter of intent.
In the recent London Olympics, Missy left here home and school of Regis Jesuit High in Aurora Colorado to win a total of 5 gold metals.
The Metals Franklin won included the 100 and 200 meter backstroke events, gold metals in 400 medley and 800 freestyle relays, and bronze in the 400 freestyle relay.
According to Swimming World Missy plans to swim collegiately for the first 2 years of college then go pro in 2015. She is also considdering going for more metals in the Rio Olympics of 2016.
