SV Students Featured in Football All-Star Games

Every year, hundreds of the best high school football players are given the opportunity to play in all-star games around the country.
Some of the more prominent all-star games are the Under Armor All American game. Featured in this years Under Armor All American game were two WPIAL players, North Allegheny’s Pat Kugler and Central Valley’s Rob Foster.
This year, five Seneca Valley students are featured in Pennsylvania’s two most prominent all-star games. Playing in the PSFCA East West game Sunday were three Seneca students: quarterback Jordan Brown, linebacker Ryan McCauley, and defensive linemen Nick Dahlstrom.
Brown completed 6/13 pass attempts for 108 yards and three touchdowns while Dahlstrom and McCauley played solid defense all game. In the end, the East came out victorious by a score of 47-28.
All three Seneca Valley representatives will be playing at the next level. Brown committed to division one James Madison University, while Dahlstrom and McCauley are playing at division two Slippery Rock and California University (PA) respectively.
Also playing in all-star games for Seneca Valley are Forrest Barnes and Dean Ketterer.
Barnes and Ketterer were selected to play in the annual Big 33 game that features the 33 best players from Pennsylvania and matches them up with the 33 best players from another state. Traditionally the matchup has been Pennsylvania vs. Ohio, however this year it will be Pennsylvania vs. Maryland.
The Big 33 all-star game will be played June 15 at Hershey Park Stadium in Hershey, PA.
The Big 33 game has been played since 1957 and some prominent alumni include Joe Namath, Tony Dorsett, Ben Roethlisberger, Orlando Pace, Charles Woodson, and Steve Slaton.
