SV Hockey is on a Winning Roll

The Seneca Valley varsity boys’ ice hockey team is on a roll, after routing Upper St. Clair 7-3 in the annual outdoor game at the Penguins Pond in Station Square.   This is the team’s third straight win, and second in two days.  The Raiders barely pulled out a win against State College on Tuesday, and also had a nice win against Butler last week.

Junior and Captain Chris Marziotto continues to be a force offensively for the Raiders scoring 3 goals in the past 3 games.  In the back end, Jake Sarachine has been shutting down forwards as well as putting the puck in the net.   It’s hard to forget about the goalie, Tanner Pfeffer, who has kept the Raiders in it game after game, with his outstanding .910 save percentage.

Seneca is currently boasting a 9-2-1 record, and with 9 games remaining, the Raiders hope to keep the dream of going to Console Energy Center alive.  They go up against a respectable 7-3 Bethel Park team this coming Tuesday, which will hopefully add another win to their already impressive record.

This team wouldn’t be where it is without the great leadership of Seniors Josh Jones, Casey Kramer, Luke Reed, Jakes Sarachine, and Pat Stough.  These seniors have really helped the young core of this team be successful not only this season, but also be able to do so in the coming seasons.
