The Lady Raiders have been on a roll ever since their loss to the Hampton Talbots early on this year, not losing a single game since then and now has a record of 14-1.  They got their revenge on the Talbots later in the year by defeating them on their home field by a score of 3 – 1.

Despite all of these accomplishments, the title of Section Champions still evaded the Lady Raiders, but with the win, the title is within their grasp.

Last Tuesday night, the Seneca Valley girls’ soccer team came into the night on a hot streak, even knowing that they were about to have the hardest game of the season so far against North Alleghany.

The North Alleghany team, who is a main rival of the Seneca girls’ team, was going to do everything within their power to deny the Seneca Valley girls’ soccer team another section title.   The stage was set for a battle between two dedicated and talented teams in a key section match that would solidify the Raiders as section champions if they won.

After the kick off, the Raiders had a drive to win and senior midfielder Rachel Leake scored early for the Raiders.  However, the North Alleghany Tiger girls quickly struck back by scoring against the Lady Raiders making the game 1-1.  Determined not to lose, senior forward Alex Bilka scored for the Raiders and then Rachel Leake scored again to put the game away.

After an incredibly hard-fought battle, the Seneca Valley varsity soccer team won the game by a score of 3 – 1.  With that win, they not only put another tally in the wins column, but they also secured a spot in the WPIAL playoffs as the section champions for the second year in a row.
