Throw Back Thursday!

Give me a M! Give me a C! Give me a G! O! U! R… okay you get the point. Rocking the Erie McDowell cheerleading uniform is Seneca Valley’s very own Mrs. McGourty in her sophomore year of high school. Sitting next to her is another Family and Consumer Science (FACS) teacher, Mindy Marshal, who works at the pair’s alma mater. Years later, the two remain friends.
Mrs. McGourty may have hung up her cheerleading garbs to teach a variety of subjects here, including Family and Consumer Sciences, Cooking, Interior Design, and Family Studies, but this remarkable teacher hasn’t forgotten the huge impact cheerleading has had on her life. She’s also remained loyal to her values, such as kindness, and would like to remind everyone to “Always be kind to others – you never know when your kindness and reputation will lead you to awesome opportunities… And make it genuine. People can see right through the fake stuff.”
