Seneca Valley Senior High School teacher Ms. Christ is new this 2017-2018 school year and is ready for a great new experience.
Christ, who now teaches sociology, psychology and World History to 11th and 12th graders, used to teach in a school in Virginia known as Herndon High School in her earlier years of teaching.
Aside from being “overwhelmed” from the start of her new job, Christ was nervous to start her first year at Seneca Valley.
This is Christ’s first year ever teaching sociology, but psychology is her favorite. “I really learned to love sociology because the kids who take it are excited to learn about it, so it is easier to teach,” said Christ.
What Christ thinks is so great about Seneca Valley as a district (except for the students) is the helpful environment that the other teachers and administrators give off, which, according to Christ, “you don’t see all of the time.” In general these things just make the job easier and a school a better place to work.
Overall, Christ is happy to be a part of a new school and is excited to be teaching a few new classes to a bunch of new students with great potential and attitude towards learning.
