This past week was full of drama in the entertainment industry, including an apparent breakup for Britney Spears and year-long fiancé, Jason Trawick. The couple has now confirmed months of unhappiness, and a reason behind the shocking split has finally surfaced.

TMZ has reported that Spears, 31, claims to “want more children”, while her fiancé, 41, was hesitant towards expanding their family. The idea of the couple already taking care of Sean Preston and Jayden James, two children from Spears’ previous marriage with Kevin Federline, was said to have already overwhelmed Trawick as is.

Trawick’s involvement with Spears did not start with romance. Spears had first hired him as her agent, and over time, he gradually became her boyfriend. Sources say that the idea of being Spears’ agent and boyfriend had consumed him and “took away his individuality.” Trawick has worked as an agent to many A-list celebs before Spears including: Taylor Swift, Hilary Duff, Paris Hilton, and even Heidi Klum.

A source from Fox News reported that the whole breakup was not a shock, and that the two should have seen it coming.”It has really been in motion awhile. Jason has been very stressed and concerned for Britney and what she might do if he left,” the insider said. “He is worried about her and really loved her, but it started to take a real toll on him. The burden of taking care instead of a partnership where she also takes care.”

Spears announced the split from her boyfriend of nearly three years to People magazine on January 11, saying in a statement, “Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement. I’ll always adore him and we will remain great friends.”

Spears also gave back the $99,000 engagement ring Trawick proposed to her with on his birthday in December 2011.
